#4 Zoho'd Again!!

Well, that was interesting, I think.  I submitted the prev post via Zoho, but it cut out half of each line.  Might have been to do with me putting it in a box/table in Zoho...(Don't ask!).  So I guess it half worked.  Oh well, here's the whole thing:

Luckily for me, I think!, I had already created a Zoho account.  I've also tried out Google Docs.  I regularly recommend one of them when I'm on the desk and someone needs word processing.  Some people are a bit put off (seems like too much trouble), but, if I have time, I log on as me and demonstrate, and then some people have been encouraged to give it a go.

I havent done anything fancy myself with these tools yet (altho I'm typing this post on Zoho now!).  But my experience was enough such that when I finally bought a computer (an Imac) I decided not to buy a Word or Office package, at least for the time being, but to use one of the ones freely available.  I've been told Open Office is meant to be good also, but I haven't got around to trying it yet.

Zoho at large

#WK3 (#WK2) So she was cut to the Wik(i)!

Already felt a bit Wiki'd out with my toing and froing over whether to use a wiki or a blog for the new Digital Digest@SLV. Chose a wiki in the end, but still unsure.  A small group of staff are doing some beta testing of it (ie adding stuff!) to see what we think. If you'd like to join in just let me know.

So I put my two bits worth onto the SLV practice wiki.  Decided to add a page with a bit of info on good quality medical websites.  Be nice if someone actually found this useful, although that's not the purpose of this particular exercise I guess.

I'm a fan of Wikipedia (and I really like that particular wiki software) and certainly it's evident how useful they are.  One of the issues I had (mainly over the Digital Digest) was over how to make it readily accessible to people, but without it being totally open.

WK ???? Embarrassing Hiatus

After an excruciating absence due to being swamped....(Ironically enough it was another task of Library 2.0 character that nearly did me in; having to create a new Digital Digest and wrestling over appropriate software - but more on this later...)

So, this post is to do a mea culpa and then get on with these tasks (but triple time!)
